There are so many various printing, print preview, and other related bugs with
printing. I was surprised that there isn't a component just for printing. This
bug is to add that component.

This doesn't belong in Firefox, its a Core bug (or Toolkit, for very specific cases).

Has this actually been fixed lately? I believe it has, but what was the fix? Was it that Bugzilla upgrade, or something else?

there has been no change nor a fix. Printing exists as a component, centrallized, as part of product "core". most printing related bugs reported for firefox, suite, thunderbird, etc. will get moved to product=core.  

none of the developers have stated intentions or need to add a print component to firefox. so this bug is actually either invalid or wontfix.

I don't know if that component is new, or I was just missing it, or maybe didn't notice because it was in core. 

Could or should there be printing components for Firefox and Thunderbird? Wouldn't that be necessary for the UI part of it, as opposed to the underlying functionality? 

If so, this bug title can be changed for that.
