User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4

I've set the option browser.urlbar.showSearch to true, in both prefs.js (via
about:config) and user.js, but neither of them have any effect.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set browser.urlbar.showSearch option to true
2. Type a search entry into the location bar

Actual Results:
No search option exists on the dropdown menu

Expected Results:
A search option should appear on the bottom of the dropdown menu

Using a default theme, with a fresh profile. Problem appears in both version
1.0.6 (from Debian) and new install of 1.5 Beta 1.
Since when is this a Firefox pref? This is Mozilla/SeaMonkey only

None of the information I read told me this was the case. I was under the
impression it used to work, but maybe I was mistaken. Unfortunately it is my pet
peeve, and the main thing keeping me from moving to Firefox. Would this be
possible to do in an extension?
