probably caused by an incompatible extensions that used to display something there.
Can you try and see if it works in Firefox-safemode ?

That's what I thought, so I uninstalled my extensions, still messed up,
uninstalled firefox and killed the program files folder, reinstalled firefox,
still messed up.
Here is a list of my extensions

It's more likely in your profile, reinstalling doesn't make any difference.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup
backup your old profile
delete the old one and start Firefox (it'll create a new one for you)
Than put the backuped data back in the new profile (Firefox must be closed when
you do so)

Sorry man, I'm at work right now, I'll go home and install the new firefox and
see if the same thing happens, then I'll do the back up and stuff.
