User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20050919 SeaMonkey/1.1a Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20050919 SeaMonkey/1.1a In some conditions that I haven't determined, the email composer doesn't handle the Unicode Lucida Sans capital J right. I was typing purple on gold, one size larger than default, and the preceding line was a blank. On typing a J as the first char in the line, the display was right, but when the next char was typed, the J disappeared from view and became only a residual spot on the screen. With left-justified J's on successive lines, typing another char would make both J's disappear. While trying to find something reproducible, I lost the cursor. Here's some text that should do it: Justinian Just doesn't get it. A B I was unable to reproduce this with other chars that have descending parts, so the Lucida Sans Unicode font I used is defective. But it displays fine in the completed email which I got a copy of. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select Lucida Sans Unicode font 2. Click the font enlarger once or twice. Maybe select a text color. 3. Type some text with J's at the left edge of the body. Actual Results: In some conditions subsequent typed characters make J and j characters disappear. Expected Results: The J and j chars should display normally in the editor, correctly formed and sized. This could be a font defect or a Win98 bug. I think the font is dated 5-8-2000 5:20A, though I didn't see a Lucida font indicated to be Unicode.
