User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Windows 2000 SP4 I have been using version 1.0.6 which works fine. I downloaded 1.0.7 from Mozill.org and installed it. When firefox loaded it said connection refused by my verizon dsl home page. Same for google, etc. I reinstalled. No change. Downloaded again. Installed over existing version. Same behavior. Removed FF using add-remove programs and installed again. Same behavior. Removed 1.0.7 and installed FF 1.0.6. It works fine; I am using it now to write this report. Reproducible: Always

Do you have any (personal) firewall installed which might block access for the new version?

Zone Alarm security 5.1 should be running. No pop up window from it appeared. The ZA icon is not in the tray however; it usually is.

Very strange! The red update available arrow turned up in FF 1.0.6. So I allowed it to install the update to 1.0.7. It(FF 1.0.7) is working fine and Zone Alarm is running.
