I would like to see a popup, once a day (only once a day) when you run the
browser  and it detects important updates I feel that the user should be notified.

I work with alot of users and most of them (that i've converted to mozilla)
never notice the upgrade "icon".

Firefox 1.0.x is a security-only branch at this stage.  Firefox 1.5 has a far
more prominent notification system.
