User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414
The html-code in the URL ( http://bos.hack.org/mozilla-crash/ ) was found on a
community. The page works in Internet Explorer, but causes Mozilla to hang hard
and consumes all available CPU. The only way to exit it is to kill the process.
The html-code contains a bunch of marquee-tags and a center-tag after each line.
Ofcourse, the center-tags should not be there for the page to be valid, but they
do on the community. If I remove all center-tags, Mozilla does not hang, but the
marquees are not visible either.
Both this URL and the community-URL works in Internet Explorer without any problems.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make Mozilla go to http://bos.hack.org/mozilla-crash/
2. See 1.
Actual Results:
Mozilla hangs. The only way to make it go unhanged is to kill the process.
Expected Results:
I do not know. In Internet Explorer, the code shows a moving line of graphics,
much like "copper-bars" on the Amiga (anyone remembers them?), but in Mozilla,
nothing is shown even if the center-tags are removed.

dupe of "A lot of nested marquees can make Mozilla freeze"

WFM with SeaMonkey TRUNK build 2005092305 (works, I see the colors)
confirmed with SeaMonkey 1.8 Branch build 2005092109 (but hangs only for several
seconds, after that SM works again, but does not display anything for that page)
It does not effect TRUNK builds, only 1.7 and 1.8 branch builds.
Note: The fix (see other bug) was only for TRUNK!

It is fixed on trunk, you can download trunk builds here:
http://ftp.scarlet.be/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/
This is really a duplicate of bug 277208.

Is that a fix for Firefox only? I use the Mozilla-suite.

SeaMonkey 1.0 and later do not have the bug
Mozilla 1.7.x will always have the bug
let's try this dupe thing again.
