Segment violation and end of program when Importing bookmarks saved previously
from firefox installed on WindowsXP (importing to Ubuntu linux).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click Bookmarks - Manage Bookmarks - File - Import

Actual Results:
Oops.. crashes (SEGMENTATION FAULT)

It didn't even show any windows after clicking "Import".

Expected Results:
Open a windows to search the file to import.. and add links from that file to
the "Bookmarks" menu.

In spanish "Violación de Segmento"

The translation in english should be: "Segmentation fault" or "Segment
Violation" or so..

Does this happen repeatedly (that is, did you try again, and it failed again)?
If so, can you attach, to this bug report, the bookmark file that you are trying
to import?
A talkback ID would be nice, too. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback
This happens on my PC with Ubuntu Linux, too. The PC crashes before I can select any file to import, it already crashes when I click on file-import (before the import filter itself starts)

This happens any time I try to import anything in Firefox, I tried it several times. Other than the original poster, I do not get any error messages.
does file>open work?

Can anyone reproduce this with a current Firefox build?

For now, not enough information → resolving INCOMPLETE.
