Is this an issue about these settings not being rememebered across browser
sessions, or them not being applied to a page right after you set them?

When using a 'print' icon on a website, the page setting for the printout goes to the default(?), US Letter - instead of the setting specified in Page setup (A4). You click on the 'print' icon, and the print starts automatically using US Letter.. With a printer that refuses to print a format not present in the paper tray, one has to get the job done in Konqueror instead.
