User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: version 1.0.6 (20050716) Outlook mail messages with an attached mail of Content-Type message/rfc822 have the attachment imported with an empty body, with an incorrect Content-Type: of text/plain. (Outlook version 2002) Reproducible: Always
You sure you're not seeing bug 166646, or are the imported attachment files totally blank? See also bug 219181.
Version: unspecified → 1.0
(In reply to comment #1) > You sure you're not seeing bug 166646, or are the imported attachment files > totally blank? See also bug 219181. Sorry, I misstated the bug slightly. What actually happens is that the attachment simply disappears. For example, if the message was previously multipart, with a text/plain and message/rfc822 attachment, it becomes replaced by a non-multipart message containing only the text/plain part. This is not bug 166646 as it is in the source, not in the view. It is not 219181 as it applies specifically to message/rfc822 attachments (actually, probably all message/foo attachments).
1.5.0.x and prior versions are no longer supported. Ben, does this still occur with the latest Thunderbird 2.0.0.x?

Absolutely no idea but I strongly suspect it still does. From talking with a guy who makes a mail-transfer product, it turns out to be very non-obvious how to get rfc822 attachments out of Outlook email. it seems there's no documentation and this guy only figured it out after a good deal of introspection on the windows code base.
Wayne, thoughts?

sorry, don't have personal experience and currently out of touch with import issues

Moving bugs from TB: Migration to MailNews Core: Import, as the code for Outlook, OE, and Eudora migration is almost entirely shared within the core import code.

Could be this issue a dupe of bug #273793? Ben if you select menu-->view-->display attachments inline, you see the attachement?
