Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.When Firefox opens the 'mail' icon does not appear. 2.I 'customize' the toolbar and add the 'mail' icon. I have varied WHERE and on WHICH tool bar I add it to. It will remain whereever I put it until... 3.I close Firefox then reopen it. It will have then disappeared again. Actual Results: The 'mail'will not remain on any toolbar after Firefox has been shutdown then restarted. Expected Results: The 'mail' icon should remain where I have put it upon reopening Firefox.

WFM - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20050924 Firefox/1.4 Are you using the default theme? If not then switch back to the default. If that does not fixe the problem then likely http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic will solve your problem.
Yes. Using default Firefox Theme program was downloaded with. Thanks.
Running standard diagnostic and deleting 'Cute" extention (even thought I was not using it), fixed this problem. Thank you.
