say i write a file in /tmp and would like to attach it to my email.

1. click 'attach'
2. click 'filesystem' 
3. click the 'root' button
4. scroll down and click 'tmp'
5. scroll, find my file and click it. note that in /tmp there can be many files,
so this is very annoying

my suggestion, like in many other dialogs (maybe even older thunderbird):
1. have an edit box where i can paste directly the directory (probably above the
file list)
2. have an edit box where i can write a directory (hitting 'enter' will cd
there), a full path name of the file, or a file name. 

for both, provide completion.

maybe have this only in 'advanced mode'
