WFM in branch, trunk and 1.0.7. Have you tried it in the safe mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox)

I have tried the 1.5 beta 1 [ Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4 ]. I can successfully navigate to http://www.shop.bt.com - i do get a "Warning: unresponsive script" upon every click of the menus, offering me the chance to stop the script or continue (whichever i choose, navigation seems to succeed). It does not crash however. NB more information - a colleague has reproduced a crash on the current ubuntoo 1.0.7 linux build, so it is not necessarily constrainted to the windows platform.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20050928 Firefox/1.6a1 ID:2005092815 WFM, too. Stuart, this appears to be fixed in 1.5 beta 1. If you can reproduce this crash with beta 1, please feel free to reopen this. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/
