User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Legitimate ebay customers who use Mozilla FireFox are unable to log in with there user ID. The above message blocks Mozilla FireFox users from entering. I am an ebay buyer/seller and can only log on by using Internet Explorer. I have been using Mozilla FireFox for over a year buying and selling on ebay for over a year and am very frustrated that I cannot access ebay any longer via Mozilla FireFox as I much prefer Mozilla FireFox over any other browser. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to http://www.ebay.com/ 2.click on my ebay to log on 3.one of two error messages will keep reappearing and you cannot log in Actual Results: denied access to log into ebay account Expected Results: log into my ebay account as I have using Mozilla Firefox for the last year now The only additional information is that I don't see how eBay can force users to use Internet Explorer or Netscape and that the user does not have a choice to use the browser Mozilla FireFox if they want to.
Most of the reports of that error code have either been from extensions, or non-workable settings for OCSP. Do you still see the problem if you start in Firefox Safe Mode ( http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode )? Do you have OCSP (Options/Advanced/Validation) set to anything other than "Do not use OCSP" and if so, does resetting that solve the problem?
Hi, I am getting a similar error. Specifically it is an alert that says "Error trying to validate certificate from signin.ebay.com using OCSP - server is busy. Please try again later." I am using Firefox 1.0.7 Using IE on the same computer I have no problem accessing eBay and have confirmed that it is not due to my network, firewall, security, ISP, etc. In addition, a different computer on the same network running Firefox 1.0.1 has no problem accessing ebay.
Hi, I changed my Tools | Options | Advanced | Validation | OCSP to "Do not use OCSP for certificate validation". This fixed my problem. However, the root of the problem still exists since the error did not occur until I upgraded from 1.0.1 to 1.0.7 Thanks to Phil Ringnalda for his comment.
