I have been a long-time Firefox user. Within the past two weeks or so, my
usernames and passwords are suddenly not remembered - even on sites that keep
you logged in unless you manually log out. Whenever I close the window, I lose
it. I'm getting very sick of it, and it's almost tempting to go back to IE -
something I REALLY do not want to do.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
It's whenever I got to any website that requires a log-in/password, no matter
what the site is.
Actual Results:  
I am logged out as soon as I close that window.

Expected Results:  
I should be kept logged in unless I manually log out.

That sounds more like cookies than password manager: password manager fills in
the username and password, cookies remember that the server doesn't want to make
you fill them in at all. In Options/Privacy/Cookies is the "Keep Cookies:" set
to "until they expire" or "until I close Firefox"?

Just checked, and it was somehow at "until I close Firefox". I'm guessing that
was the problem. Thank you so much, I was going crazy!!!!
