RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 237852

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7
Build Identifier: Thunderbird 1.5 Beta 1

When I place smiley at the end of the line it stops to act like a regular
character.
When I click on the line to the right of the smiley, it is selected (if the
smiley
acted like a character the cursor would be placed after it instead).
When I try to move the cursor beyond the smiley the cursor goes to the next line
(if the smiley acted like a character it would appear to the right of the smiley).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter some text on the line.
2. Place smiley at the end of the line.
3. Click somewhere to the right of the smiley.
4. Place cursor to the left of the smiley and try to move it over smiley.

Actual Results:
Smiley failed to behave like a regular character.

Expected Results:
Smiley whould behave just like a regular character.
I take it this is in HTML mode, not plain text? Aren't smileys in HTML
pictures, not characters?
Sure, HTML mode. Smileys are pictures, but I think for the ease of editing they
should behave just like a character.
You see this only at the end of the line? Otherwise, this looks like same thing
as bug 237852 -- if you agree that's the case, please mark this bug as a dupe of
that one.
