User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 Quicktime video starts to play OK. If I let it play for a few minutes in the background, eventually it will start to "show through" other tabs, then all Firefox redraws start to fall apart. Toolbars don't redraw, switching tabs doesn't cause redraw. Quicktime continues to play just fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://briankingston.com/Video/missilecommand2.mov 2. Continue using other apps and other tabs for a few minutes until problem appears Actual Results: Quicktime video starts to play OK. If I let it play for a few minutes in the background, eventually it will start to "show through" other tabs, then all Firefox redraws start to fall apart. Toolbars don't redraw, switching tabs doesn't cause redraw. Quicktime continues to play just fine. I can quit FireFox by clicking around until I hit the close box -- even though I can't see it once the page redraw starts to die.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051001 Firefox/1.4.1 WFM. Can you test with a recent nightly?

I've been seeing major issues with QuickTime as well, as shown by the following screenshots. In all three cases the issues were caused by scrolling the screen or moving the browser window around the desktop: http://dria.org/images/310798.png http://dria.org/images/310798b.png http://dria.org/images/310798c.png A test URL is the new Apple Aperture product page, here: http://www.apple.com/aperture/profiles/ Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1

It would help to get some Quicktime versions added into this report. Jesse, does
the URL Deb points to work for you? What version of QT are you running?
FWIW, I'm running:
- Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051020
Firefox/1.5
- Quicktime v 7.0.3
The url provided in comment 2 works fine for me with scrolling and moving the
browser window.

Heh, and my own bad: with the setup referenced in comment 3, I don't experience the problems described in this report. If we can get a confirmation on XP, we should confirm this bug. If we can get a confirmation on Mac only, we should confirm and switch the OS/Hardware.

I tried to repro the case in comment #2, but Quicktime crashes itself, and sometimes FF, every time. Windows reports: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/response.aspx?SGD=1a299710-dff8-4d2b-a9ac-7652e141f27b&SID=623 Win XP SP2 FF 1.07 QT 7.0.3

This bug was reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.3 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME http://www.mozilla.com http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+mode
