When running firefox trunk, I get undefined references to pango_xft_get_font_map
and then firefox crashes, the patch in fedora CVS fixes it:

that patch bumps us to always require cairo. i think the right thing to do is 
to dynamically detect xft/cairo and pull in the one that's available.
Yeah, although the dup is not all easy to search for ....
