Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4

After firefox has fully loaded other programs (word, thunderbird, calculator,
windows explorer....) can take an extremely long time (5-15 min) to load. While
the other program is trying to load anything that was previously open, and
firefox itself, behaves normally. Once the other program has actually loaded any
further activity seems normal.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start firefox
2. Browse in a couple of tabs
3. Try to open any other program

Actual Results:
The other program takes 5-15 minutes to load.

Expected Results:
Loaded in <30 seconds.

WFM with average specs.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/2007051502 Firefox/2.0.0.4

WFM, but I'm using a system with more resources than the one in the bug.

Reporter, can you verify whether this is still happening with the latest version of Firefox (if you even have that same P3 850 around...)?

Closing as WFM. This is likely an issue with your machine. The only thing that could cause this is Firefox using too much memory, but that's covered by our memory leak bugs. If you can still reproduce this, please provide more information about Firefox's memory usage on your machine.
