Although I only tested this bug on gmail, it might affect other AJAX
applications and normal web applications. However, the toggle works as expected
(no data loss) on simpler pages, such as the new post page on the Mozillazine
Forums.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose a new email in gmail
2. Toggle to the Bookmarks manager
3. Toggle back from the Bookmarks manager
4. The page refreshes and you lost everything you typed
Not sure there's much we can do about this as really you're loading a page
(about:bookmarks) and then going "back" to Gmail. (Because Gmail uses JS for
everything, it clears it unlike normal forms, iirc.)

This is probably INVALID (or really, by design).
This happens even when going back to Gmail after visiting a normal page. If
Gmail insists on reloading things, there's nothing we can do about it, even with
fastback.

it is kinda annoying tho i agree.
Actually, I think there might be a way to work around this problem. Why not put
the bookmarks manager in an independant pane that sits on top of the webpage and
covers it. Since the bookmarks manage is independant of the content pane, we can
avoid this kind of problems.

I think it's a valid complaint.

There have been a ton of changes to Gmail since this was filed; it is still a problem?
I don't think it matters; the fundamental issue here is in how the bookmark view in Camino works, not the example it happened to be filed against. The problem will exist on some number of sites unless we change things.
