using 20051002 semonkey trunk, i found it extremely sluggish (upgraded from 2005092405) -Pages loding in new tabs block all scrolling in other tabs untill loaded. -Elements appear on pages (all pages) noticably slower than usual. -Load a simple page as todays bugs in bugzilla, and i can't scroll with scrollwheel at all - nor by clicking in scrollbar, for several minutes. Then the suite "snaps out of it" and reacts again - untill i open a new page: new deadlock. I can, however, drag the thumb to scroll. But CPU usage is unreasonably high during this all: between 90% and 100% for extended periodes, allthough nothing seems to go on in the browser at all. Had to uninstall this again before it fried my laptop.

I can confirm this using SeaMonkey-Tinderbox-Build 2005100102 and later. Also loading the Bookmarks in Personal Toolbar at startup takes some Seconds, navigate in Menues and starting MailNews too. This was probably related to or an Duplicate for Bug 310854, but I am not sure.

I can confirm it on my PC. Seamonkey eats 100% CPU just after start. The extreme CPU usage stops after some rather big period of time. If there is no responce from any server, Seamonkey starts consuming 100% CPU again. This can be only cured by restarting the suite.
Bug still there in todays build. Any testing is out of the question in this state. This bug is a total blocker as far as I'm concerned, upping severity.
Severity: critical → blocker
