It is nice to let users specify their preferred directory, but it should have a
proper default.

Steps to Reproduce:
Can you explain how what you're asking for is different to that implemented in
bug 74085?

Already fixed for the 1.5 release, and not the sort of security fix that would
be applied on the 1.0.x branch (see bug 74085 comment 118), so there's nothing
more to be done here.
