Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1
When the left mouse button is pressed and held, CPU utilization jumps to 100%.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start ActivityMonitor (Applications|Utilities|ActivityMonitor). Make sure
you can see the "CPU Usage" graph when Firefox is in the foreground.
2. Open http://www.mozilla.org in Firefox 1.5 beta 1 or beta 2.
3. Move the mouse into the page, say in the whitespace next to the "Get Firefox"
text.
4. Press and hold the left mouse button.
Actual Results:
The CPU Usage graph shows 100% utilitization. If the button is held long
enough, the CPU fan kicks in.
Expected Results:
CPU utilization should not change. Neither middle-button nor right-button show
this spike in CPU utilization. Left-button press-and-hold shouldn't change either.
This occurs on a Mac Mini running Mac OX X 10.4.2 with both MS Intellimouse
Optical and MS Intellimouse Wireless Optical Pro.
