Details

(Keywords: crash)

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7
Build Identifier: Thunderbird 1.0.7

Uninstalled Thunderbird 1.0.6 (which worked perfectly!) and installed 1.0.7.
After installation, it fails to launch. It is listed in the Task Manager only
on the Processes tab using 00% CPU usage with 6,988 K of RAM, but when
highlighted and End Process is selected, the process does not end, it remains
running.

Upon attempting to uninstall 1.0.7 and reinstall it from a new download of the
installer, the uninstaller detected thunderbird.exe still running and would not
uninstall it. The error box instructed to go into the Task Manager and End
Process on it, which does not work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Installed 1.0.7 after uninstalling 1.0.6.
2.Launched Thunderbird from desktop.
3.Program would not launch but remains in memory, unable to End Process via Task
Manager.

Actual Results:
Program did not launch, stays in memory, unable to End Process via Windows Task
Manager.

Expected Results:
Program should have launched.

Unable to include build configuration as it would not launch.
Keywords: crash
Version: unspecified → 1.0
Upon a reboot of the computer, 1.0.7 successfully uninstalled. Upon
re-installing using the new download of the installer, it successfully launched
afterwards.
Reporter, can you reproduce the behavior in a nightly version?
