User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051008 Firefox/1.6a1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051008 Firefox/1.6a1 Since Beta 2 (or Beta 1) I don't have "view image" and "Copy Image location" in image context menu, if the image is "broken" after page load. This is very bad, because some pictures are "broken" by original site when they are linked into some forums, and having "copy image location" menu before allowed me to open the image in new tab without any referer, thus usually loading it correctly. (or View image opened it in same tab, and than after "back" the broken image was replaced from cache with actual image) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open some page with "broken" images 2. right click on "broken" image icon to bring up context menu setup: clean profile in Beta 2 / latest nightly did reproduce the problem, also my original profile, so no special setup necessary. Actual Results: there are no "View image" / "Copy Image location" items in context menu Expected Results: context menu should contain those missing items
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051010 Firefox/1.4.1 ID:2005101021 WFM in trunk and branch when the image should be on my local disk. Any special URL?

Any special URL? try: http://mageo.cz/.chatroom/10222?u=&s=10&c=1250 You may need to scroll down, as people are adding messages to the thread. Look for message from "STIN" dated [11.10.05 - 10:36], the first referenced picture "http://www.svatopluk.com/images/nemac.png" is shown "broken" from mageo.cz (works in new tab for me). Context menu on the broken image icon is identical to context menu when I click on the text. (that means missing "Show Image" and "Copy Image location" items) From my programmer's point of view I would suspect these things: - either the cursor position is evaluated as "over-text", instead of detecting the broken image icon under it. - or broken image icon has got some special handling (that would be expected, otherwise Copy Image location would probably point to file:// with the icon) and the handler is somehow failing. - something completely different ;) I can reproduce it with clean profile too, so I don't suspect my "minimal font size: 16" setting, which is usually causing havoc to design of many web sites... My (maybe relevant) extensions (do they work in clean profile?): adblock, view in IE, PDF download. (these change context menus AFAIK) Let me know, if the link works (even if it's "WFM" for you anyway), thank you.
ARGH ... I did check source of that page now. I see the problem, there is SCR=image_URL istead of SRC=image_URL. I don't know enough about HTML to judge if the IMG tag is enough to consider such object to be picture and allow that context menu, even if the rest of tag is wrong. But I don't think it's problem with firefox, sorry for false alarm in such case.
No, unfortunately we can't just pick some other random attribute and guess that it was supposed to be src (though as often as I make that typo, I wish there was a defined scr attribute, for "I screwed up").
