The Bork Bork Bork 0.10, submitted and approved the other day, should be listed
as NEWER than the 0.8 version. Instead on the developer's item view

the page shows 0.10 as inferior to all other versions.

Some thing happens here, extension version of 0.9.9.20051027 is sorted lower than 0.9.9.4, but 0.9.9.20051027 was submitted after the .4 version, see example here:

I'm assuming that that it only sorts on the first digit of the forth digit.

Background: I based my version numbering scheme for all my software (Apache modules, Sendmail milters, Hibachi, Roundhouse, Bork, etc.) based on RFC 2616 HTTP/1.1 section 3.1 HTTP Version. The major and minor numbers simply increment and the version number is NOT treated as a real decimal number. "Thus, HTTP/2.4 is a lower version than HTTP/2.13, which in turn is lower than HTTP/12.3."

Occurs with the SearchStatus extension as well - 1.9 is listed as newer than 1.14.

A workaround seems to be deleting the older versions from addons.mozilla.org - I can now get SearchStatus 1.14 to display to the public be deleting versions 1.2 to 1.9 from its database.
