The message 'Applet app inited' appears in the status frame but the applet never loads, the screen stays black. This problem does not exist in Firefox 1.07 for MacOS X. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse to http://www.runescape.com 2. Click Play game 3. Choose a world to play in Actual Results: Applet app inited shows in status window, the java app never loads Expected Results: The java app to display the user name and password should be displayed.
I'm not able to reproduce your problem. I tried both the "Signed Applet Using Default Java" and the "Unsigned Applet Using Default Java". Both worked just fine. In both cases I chose "High Detail". ("Signed Applet Using Sun Java" and "Signed Applet Using Microsoft Java" are, of course, not appropriate choices for Mac OS X.) I tested on Mac OS X 10.3.9. Like you, I used Firefox 1.5 Beta 2.
Be sure you have Java enabled (under "Content" in "Preferences").
Also, make sure you are not behind any sort of firewall or proxy, including anonymous redirector sites like firewallsucks.com, and that ports 43596 and 43597 are able to be used by the loader.
