Steps to reproduce: 1. compose messages offline and store for sending later. 2. go online 3. if you have the pref 'ask to send when going online' on, the dialog appears and you allow it to send 4. messages are being sent 5. while they are sending (use slow connection like dialup), double click 'unsent messages folder' 6. a new main window appears with the folder selected and opened 7a. if you have the pref on, the dialog appears and you can cancel it 7b. otherwise, mail is sent again without warning
OK, a refinement: you don't need to be in the phase of currently sending mail (but that situation is even more dangerous). Anytime I am already online, but message are still prepared to be sent, double clicking the 'unsent messages' folder will send them out. This may be a regression from the feature, that Mailnews asks to send mail at startup if it finds something prepared. Maybe it thinks opening new window is startup. I mean, it doesn't check if it already has some windows opened.
do you still see this?
Whiteboard: closeme 9/20
Hi. I can no longer open a new window using double click. I have to use the context menu on a folder. When the new window appears (using any folder), seamonkey 1.1.2 still sends messages according to the setting (asks if required to do so) as if it were a connect event. The bug is still valid, updating atributes...
Version: 1.7 Branch → SeaMonkey 1.1 Branch
Summary: Going online and sending mail, opening 'unsent messages' in new window sends message twice → Going online and sending mail, opening 'unsent messages' in new window sends message twice (new mailnews window opened interpreted as a 'going online' event)
my connection may be too fast to adequately test this. I tested with 3MB unsent using thunderbird version 2.0.0.5 (20070716) and didn't get the second prompt. But the message was sent (gone) within a second or two. Magnus, can you to test this with SM?

I don't do much sm testing usually... anyway, couldn't reproduce on sm latest trunk.
aceman, Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ?
Yes. Wayne, according to comment 1, you don't need a slow connection. Just be online, prepare an email, press 'send later', select 'ask me to send email, when going online' in the prefs. Open a new mailnews window: on any folder, context menu, 'open in new mail window'. You should get the prompt whether you wish to send unsent messages. I do.
