User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 Thunderbird needs to have basic support for random signatures. I think it would be reasonable to be able to poit to a folder/directory containing small textfiles and that TB when you create a new message picks one of these files and insert it at the bottom of the message. Possibly, this should be implemented through an extension. I have looked into the Signature and Signature Switcher extensions but they only partially offer this functionality. Furthermore, independently of how this is implemented, I think it should limit the signature to the standard 4 lines of text. People who wants to override such a limit can compile their TB themselves... Reproducible: Always
Seamonkey bug 88156
See Signature Switch at <https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/611?application=thunderbird&id=611>. I do not believe bug reports should be resolved through the use of extensions, but this might provide a work-around while the RFE is under consideration. Perhaps, it might even serve as the basis for implementing this RFE.
