User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; it-IT; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919 Firefox/1.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; it-IT; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050919 Firefox/1.0.7 "Edit as new" fails with global inbox if the original account has been deleted. The error is different in Linux and in Windows (I couldn't try Mac OSX). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. have a profile using the global inbox, with at least 2 accounts; 2. create a new message and then save in a folder; 3. delete the default account for the global inbox - the second account becomes the default one; 4. select the message and click on "Edit as new". Actual Results: In Linux you have a error message that tells you that there has been an error in opening the compose window. In Windows the compose window is opened, but you've in sender field the deleted account, so if you try to send the mail, you'll have an error (missing sender field). Anyway in Linux the problem is more rilevant, because there is no workaround, while in Windows you can change the sender field. Expected Results: You should be able to edit the message as new, with the actual default account.
I can confirm the Windows case without using the global inbox and without having to delete an entire account -- just deleting the identity used to compose the original message causes it to fail as described. The actual error displayed is "No sender was specified. Please fill in your email address in the Account settings." Reproduced with TB 1.5b2-1006, Seamonkey 1.0a-0910. Moving to Core.
