The URL http://www.nrc.nl/ is in my bookmarks list. When I open it, the web page
appears in the Bookmarks window and not in the normal browser window. Same
happens on my other PC (Athlon 64 / Windows XP Home) with the same Firefox version.
When I type the URL (not using the bookmark), the web page opens as it should.

In the properties of the bookmark (rightclick > Properties) have you put a tick
in the box "Load this bookmark in the sidebar"? That would explain the behaviour.
