Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050922 Fedora/1.0.7-1.1.fc4 Firefox/1.0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050922 Fedora/1.0.7-1.1.fc4 Firefox/1.0.7

When input language is not English, most keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + letter) do
not work on linux. No such problem in windows version.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select any input language other than English
2. Try any shortcut (Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F, for example)
3.

Actual Results:
Shortcut does not work.

Expected Results:
Action bound to a shortcut should be executed.

Problem exists in both firefox 1.0.7 and 1.5b2
So I assume that these keyboard shortcuts work in other applications and you
don't have any other system-wide shortcuts that would conflict with these?
Summary: Keyboard shortcuts do not work when English is not an input language → Keyboard shortcuts do not work when English is not an input language
Yes. (In reply to comment #1)

The answer is yes to both questions.
This is really annoying, especially when one is editing some text box online, cant copy, cant paste, cant undo with kb shortcuts unless switching back to english layout. Kb shortcuts work fine for me in kde applications and non kde applications such as OpenOffice.org2. i let X handle kb layout switching if this helps, if i leave it kde , it doesnt work eather, in gnome, it doesnt work eather.
I'm sure this has been reported before...
