I can receive images from commercial outfits and there is a "Show Images" button available. I have checked with my Road Runner technical people and it is not any blocking that they do. Other people can receive and open these forwarded images but I can not. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open a forwarded message that contains an image and on the screen you will see all the written words but where the image should be is a large white box with a tiny white box inside which contains a red diamond icon. Clicking that does no good. I have checked all options and preferences etc. and there is no way to open the image. 2. 3. Actual Results: Nothing. I have tiem and time again been unable to open the image. Expected Results: A "Show Image" button should be visible that when selected would allow the image to appear (as it does in commercial e-mails such as news from cruise lines etc.) Thank you for any help you can provide. If I can not find a solution I will have to reluctantly return to Outlook Express which I do not want to do. I really do like Thunderbird and have recommended it to many people. Please tell me what to do to solve this problem

You are talking about mail forwarded as attachments, right? That would be bug 174692.
(In reply to comment #2) > That would be bug 174692. Unlikely dupe; that bug doesn't apply to attachments, it applies to messages that have been saved to disk as .EML files. 1) Which version of TB is this bug filed against? 2) Is the forwarded message itself an attachment, or is it "inline"? (If you turn off View | Display Attachment Inline an attached message will not be visible.) 3) What mail client was used to forward the message to you? > Other people can receive and open these forwarded images but I can not. 4) Are these "other people" using Thunderbird or some other client? If you don't know the answers to questions 2 or 3, the next best thing you can do is to save the message you received as a .EML file, and attach that file to this bug, using the Create New Attachment link above. (That is, "above" at the bug's webpage, which is where you need to enter any response.)
Private email from reporter states mail forwarded as attachments was the case. Bug 312190 may be a dupe.
(In reply to comment #4) > Private email from reporter states mail forwarded as attachments was the case. I also received private email from reporter, who did not indicate which bug the mail was about, or even what problem she was talking about. But, she said that setting "View Attachments Inline" fixed the problem. So, the problem was user error; no bug -> Invalid
