multiple Bookmark loading at startup, is not good solved.
if you view at startup procedure
you will see a poor loading behavior in the way of performance.
the function should load at first the 1st Bookmark and than the 2nd Bookmark, if
the 1st Bookmarks loading have been completed.

example:

put this string as your startup "Bookmark - String"

Reproducible: Always
Component: Bookmarks → General
QA Contact: bookmarks → general
Summary: multiple Bookmark loading @ startup → multiple home pages loading at startup
IMHO loading the home tabs sequentially instead of concurrently would be unacceptably slow, especially if there are many of them and/or if there are timeouts.

I propose WONTFIX
Component: General → Startup and Profile System
OS: Windows XP → All
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
QA Contact: general → startup
Hardware: PC → All
Well, I think it would be valid to prioritize the first tab load over the other ones, but that doesn't sound easy. In any case I think this is a browser bug, not toolkit.
Component: Startup and Profile System → Session Restore
Product: Toolkit → Firefox
QA Contact: startup → session.restore
Component: Session Restore → General
QA Contact: session.restore → general
@Benjamin Smedberg - yes, this is the best solution!

Note: XP for example has the TCP Connection issue, if not patched only 10 Connections could be established... if you have 5 - 10 tabs this is slowing down by OS maybe on some systems (no patch with xp antixpy)

Maybe Firefox should implement a add-on or native fuction to rise up the connection limit on win-nt-os systems ...

That can't be atm: this one is for Firefox, bug 141615 is for SeaMonkey.

This is almost bug 586068, except that bug was fixed for session restore but not, AFAIK, for multi-tab homepages.
