Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1
After using the nightly build for several weeks, and installing the daily
updates almost every day, to my surprise I found out after a casual check today
that I was running a week behind.
Further investigation shows that everytime I check for an update, only the delta
to the next day's build is sent.
There should be a mechanism to send several deltas at once, and apply them in
order, I think. People might be misled into thinking that they are running an
up-to-date build - "oh, I just updated, I'm fine" when they are, in fact, not.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install a several-days-old nightly build
2. Check for update
3. Restart
Actual Results:
The "about" window now reports the build from the day after is installed
Expected Results:
"About" window should show today's build as installed.
The same problem is experienced with Thunderbird.
