When I click on tools -> read mail nothing happens. File -> send link and tools -> new mail message work. I am using Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy) and Evolution Mail 2.4.1. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051023 Firefox/1.5

Using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051024 Firefox/1.5, I don't see this bug on Mac - need to check Linux.
I am seeing this on Linux FC 3. with this mornings 1.5 build

need to find the regression window for this one.
Why not take out of the UI anyway? It is a redundant remnant of the suite and has no place in a browser whatsoever.
It's not redundant or obselete, it's meant to launch the user's default email client...

bug 306453 covers removing these items from the UI (which didn't make the 1.5 release); this bug should only contain comments about fixing the UI
making this feature work (which has never worked) is not a blocker.
