Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1
Build Identifier: http://download.mozilla.org/?product=thunderbird-1.5b2&os=win&lang=en-US
The "Powered by Gecko" watermark, displayed on the bottom of the "Welcome to Mozilla Thunderbird!" screen, isn't erased correctly when the user scrolls the welcome page.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Thunderbird.
2. Scroll around in the Welcome to Thunderbird page.
Actual Results:
The watermark isn't erased from its old position properly when scrolling, and leaves messy "trails" behind, making the full text impossible to read.
Expected Results:
The window should have been completely redrawn.
Honestly, I think the watermark is a nuisance and should be removed. I'll put up with it, however, as long as it doesn't interfere with scrolling, which it currently does.
Also, it could be a little confusing for non-techies to see "powered by Gecko" which, when clicked, takes them to mozilla.org. They'd be like "What on earth is Gecko?", a question that the Firefox download page does nothing to answer. Something like "Powered by Firefox" might be more appropriate. Either that or just put the "powered by Gecko" note in the About box.
