Firefox Tracking Flags

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6

I use a favicon used on my homepage, However, this address uses web forwarding to where the homepage actually resides, i.e. (presently):

When I write in the favicon shows.

When I write in it doesn't.

It seems the favicon disappears in the web forwarding process.

Additional help:

Netscape 7.1 handles both cases above. The Gecko engine in Netscape is older:
Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1 (ax)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compare the sites above: --> favicon shows --> favicon does not show

Actual Results:
See above.

Expected Results:
Show the favicon even when site name is virtual and is forwarded to actual URL.
For some reason, the pages viewed at the two different addresses seem to have different sources. In particular pretty much all of the elements from the head element are not in the one on the forwarded address, hence why the favicon is not shown.

Tracing the html connection shows that firefox is getting what the server is returning, i.e. a modified version of the page and IE shows the same behaviour.

Without the link tag saying what favicon to use firefox is probably trying favicon.ico which does not exist.

I suspect whoever is doing the web forwarding for you is removing some content from your webpages.
