User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920 Firefox/1.0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920 Firefox/1.0.7
I tried to add more search engines to the toolbar search field, but it has no effect. Nothing is added, no indication on what's wrong.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose Add engines ...
2. Click on a engine, say "LEO"
3. Click OK in the dialog popping up.
Actual Results:
Nothing at all, even after restart
Expected Results:
Added new search engine

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051029 Firefox/1.5 ID:2005102900
WFM.
In version 1.0.x, search engin is installed in the following places.
Firefox install directory/searchplugins
Is the installation destination recordable in your account?
In 1.8 branch build, search engin is installed in my Profile.
Therefore, this problem will not occur as long as there is no special reason.

This is because prior to 1.5 search plugins were added to the app. directory which wasn't writable for most users. Now we put them in the profile directory which is writable in almost all cases.
