BUT IT DOES NOT crash when I put the same URL in a bookmark and click on the bookmark to open it. System: Fedora Core 3 / KDE 3.4.2 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start Firefox 2. click on menu File:Open 3. choose htm/html file 4. wait about 2-5 seconds Actual Results: Firefox window is gone! Expected Results: show the file
Firefox does NOT crash when I use the menu File:Open for a text file.

Today, I installed Firefox-1.5rc2 (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051107 Firefox/1.5) and tried to reproduce the crash many times but Firefox did NOT crash at all! It seems the problem is fixed.
Reopen if you can reproduce and you have a talkback ID or stacktrace.
