User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051101 MultiZilla/1.8.1.0s SeaMonkey/1.1a
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051101 MultiZilla/1.8.1.0s SeaMonkey/1.1a
When new mails arrive, there is a popup notification above the Windows tray area. Additionally, a new mail icon gets inserted into the Windows tray area.
In the past, that new mail icon was some kind of mail envelope. With recent SeaMonkey nightlies (for at least several months now), however, I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside instead (screenshot follows).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Activate mail notification if that is not already the case
2. Wait for some mail to arrive to trigger new mail notification
3. Watch which icon gets inserted into the Windows tray area.
Actual Results:
A yellow triangle with an excalamation mark appears.
Expected Results:
A mail folder envelope appear.
I'm compiling from CVS using MSVC Free.
Configure arguments:
--enable-application=suite --enable-svg --enable-svg-renderer-gdiplus --enable-composer --enable-calendar --enable-crypto --disable-tests --enable-extensions=all,-xmlterm --disable-debug --enable-storage --enable-strip --enable-strip-libs --without-system-jpg --without-system-zlib --disable-auto-deps --disable-installer --disable-shared --enable-static --disable-activex --disable-activex-scripting '--enable-optimize=-O2 -GAT7 -arch:SSE2'
I do have MultiZilla installed now and am using the Orbit theme. However, the problem persists if I do not have MultiZilla installed and use the Modern theme.

Maybe bug 134745 returned somehow?

Maybe; at least the symptoms are the same. I'm seeing this on WinXP with current, self-compiled trunk builds. I'm accessing my mails through IMAP, if that makes a difference.
Does anyone see this as well? Maybe also on the SeaMonkey 1.0 branch?

Jens, did you still run into this while using the current Builds?
If not, this should be closed now, I presume. I can't reproduce this using the latest Release and Nightly-Builds.

Give me some time to check again, I reported this for self-compiled builds. I no longer build using MSVC Free, instead I switched to VC 8. Lately I only used mozilla.org nightlies (regularly updated using the new AUS service) but I should still be able to compile myself.
NB: Interesting to find myself on this side of the UNCO campaign... ;-)

Sure.
Btw., I am currently thinking about compiling Trunk builds on Windows too, but I am not sure yet, and may be need some help then. Did your article from last year still work?

I just completed compiling and testing; the correct icon appears for both my self-compiled nightly and the one from mozilla.org; both for a new test profile and a migrated one (SM 1.1.9 -> SM 2.0a1pre) -> WORKSFORME. I guess this somehow got fixed by the move from XPFE to Toolkit.

It depends which article you mean. <http://jh.junetz.de/en/mozilla/mozbuild.php4> (also available in German) is still mostly current and I just uploaded an updated .mozconfig (with a workaround for the rather new wpcapi.h issue) available through the ".mozconfig" link. This, the scripts from the "shell scripts" link, MozillaBuild 1.2 and VC8 are essentially everything you need to successfully and smoothly compile SeaMonkey on Windows XP. Just send me a mail if you have further questions.
