User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20051006 Firefox/1.4.1

Firefox updated itself at least 3 times today - it seems that no version changes has been made. Although update seemed to be successful.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Have you changed what channel you are on for software update (Have you modified channel-prefs.js and changed the channel from "beta" to something else?)?
No, I haven't changed anything. It happened again few minutes ago - I've checked the version number - nothing has changed.
Type "about:config" (without the quotes) in your address bar and hit enter.
Search for "app.update.channel" and tell me what channel it says you are using (it will be the word under the "Value" tab).
Sorry, I don't know why I didn't remember this before.

This is a DUPE of bug 314684.

Check bug 314684 comment 63 for a workaround for this bug.

Basically, delete the {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} directory from
<firefox_install_dir>\defaults\profile\extensions\

Eg: C:\Program Files\Mozilla
Firefox\defaults\profile\extensions\{972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd}\

This should fix your problem.
