I have not seen this behavior on any other site yet. I looked at the source briefly and it looks like it's css, but I am not positive. Works fine for me... page looks the same in IE. Can you elaborate on what the problem is?

That site has a Flash menu next to the logo. Maybe you don't have Flash enabled? What happens if you visit another site that uses Flash, such as http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail.html?

Ok... Upon further inspection, it appears that it is indeed the macromedia flash plugin that is not working. I reinstalled the latest flash plugin and still no help. I have flash sound, but no animation. Sorry for the earlier mistake. Here is the flash info: Shockwave Flash File name: NPSWF32.dll Shockwave Flash 8.0 r22 MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-shockwave-flash Macromedia Flash movie swf Yes application/futuresplash FutureSplash movie spl Yes Thanks, Brian

Same for me in Firefox 1.5 RC1, same Flash version, but Win2K. Only sound, no animation (also on www.macromedia.com). Saw this problem since 1.4.1 beta 2.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051025 Firefox/1.5
Any help?
Thanks,
Klaus

Flash hasn't been working for me either ever since I installed Flash 8 on Firefox 1.5. Flash does work in Internet Explorer so Flash is installed fine. Flash movies will work fine if I drag/drop them directly into the browser. If they are embedded within a page however only the sound works.

I did some testing, and it seems Flash is only working properly for local files. Dragging a file into the browser works, and a local html file with local flash works fine too (as long as you assign proper dimensions to the flash file, but that's always been that way). It seems the problem is that Firefox is setting visibility='hidden' for remote Flash files for some reason, effectively making it seem that Flash isn't working at all (when in fact it's there but just invisible - which also explains why audio still works).

The problem is actually in the AdBlock extension (I have version 0.5.2.039). If you disable/uninstall AdBlock, all Flash comes back again! The problem wasn't limited to Flash. Quicktime movies were having the exact same problem. These too should work again without Adblock

If this really is an adblock issue, it should be reported to the adblock devs.

Unfortunately, the Adblock project seems pretty dead. The forum doesn't work, their last website update was in april, and there's no other way to contact the authors :(. Also can't file a bug on Adblock because the project is inactive

The same happens when I try to watch a video using mplayerplug-in. After disabling adblock it works fine.
