RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 255225

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.1)
Build Identifier: Mozilla 1.7.12

When uninstalling, registry is not changed back to iexplorer from firefox, which causes some programs and files not to open correctly. I had to manually go thru registry to repair and it took awhile.

Reproducible: Always
I have win98.

There is an option in internet explorer to set it to check if it is the default browser, which, I believe is enabled by default.

Go to Control Panel-->internet options-->Programs tab
Check the box "Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser".

Then start explorer, and if anything is screwy in the registry regarding default browsers, telling internet explorer to be the default should rewrite all the pertinent items correctly, without resorting to any manual editing of the registry.
