Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20051004 Firefox/1.0.7

Absolutely positioned elements should have their widths calculated using a shrink-to-fit algorithm in some circumstances. Firefox incorrectly calculates the width as 100%.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Attached file Testcase
This testcase renders the outer element with 100% width instead of using the shrink-to-fit algorithm.
There is additional commentary on this bug report for Konqueror:

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95146

The latest versions of Konqueror, Opera and Safari do not exhibit the same behaviour as Firefox.

Firefox 1.0.x and 1.5 RC 1 behave the same as each other.

The relevant part of the CSS 2.1 specification is here:

I believe this is a duplicate of bug 291126.
