I had a problem updating Thunderbird 1.5b2 to RC1 when the URL above gave a 404. Software update was unable to verify the partial update, and then hung trying to contact the server. Netstat reports that ftp-chi.osuosl.org was the mirror in question. If you then browse the URL in Firefox you get listing of dist/, module/ and modules.xml, rather than the usual pub/ et al.

It was suggested on irc that this was a virtual host configuration problem, and may affect more than just the osuosl box.

ok, dropping severity... AOL, which is already configured for this domain, got dropped from it because they were missing the extensions directory. They've since picked it up, so I switched it back to pointing at them, and dropped the others.

This still might be worth fixing, as I'm sure the releases domain will be driving a lot of traffic. We can add people to it individually as we find out they work though, so dropping severity since the immediate problem is fixed now...

Just wanted to add that I had the same Problem during a whole Day (until it finally worked).
BTW, why on earth is http://http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/1.5rc1/update/win32/en-US/thunderbird-1.5b2-1.5rc1.partial.mar
currently pointing to www.microsoft.com?

Oops, my snafu on the doubled http://. Firefox does a Google I'm Feeling Lucky Search when it gets that sort of broken input.

Any objections to closing this bug now ?
OSL guys aren't directly handling this stuff anymore (not that they can't, but it's not their job anymore)
