In some ideal world, I'll be ready to ship a version of Lightning (0.1) that runs against Thunderbird 1.5 around the end of November. In order for this to happen, we need a source of such builds. The plan here is to use the CVS trunk for calendar/ and the 1.8 branch for all the rest. Bug 315617 will soon contain a patch to allow this sort of CVS pull to happen. With luck, it'll be checked into the trunk soon. Exactly when after that it ends up on the branch will be up to drivers. Anyway, filing this bug to get on the release team radar. If this isn't practical as far as release team resources are concerned (and I can well understand why it might not be), perhaps we could brainstorm a bit about other possible courses of action. Also, it's entirely possible, perhaps even likely, that the end-of-the-month date will slip.
