Add a section where people could share ideas for extension.
.) Maybe it there also be a voting system, so developers could see what extensions have good feedback.
.) Developers who reaaaaallly want to extend thunderbirds/firefoxes capeabilities, but lack ideas themselves could use this as an excellent resource.
.) Put also a link on the frontpage of 'addons...':
   'Ideas for plugin, but not a developer to realize them yourself, post them 
   Ideas-Exchange'.... something like that

I wonder if AMO is the right place to do such a thing.

A wiki might be the better place, or an encapsulated system. AMO should be just for getting the stuff.

You could propose to add a section to DevMo if there isn't already.
