When entering any page (for instance google) lots of the text that is rendered looks like garbage. It seems to be a problem in something that renders the page, because if I scroll, the text is often better when I scroll back to it. Sometimes it helps selecting the text, but both the select and the scroll trick does not hav lasting effect, but the text is randomly scrambled again after a short amount of time. It also seems bold text is not scrabled.

This problem rose when I upgraded from 1.0.7 to deer park. I was force to downgrade again to be able to surf, and after the downgrade all renders fine again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start firefox, deer park
2.Go to any webpage

Actual Results:  
Most of the text is just a mess of randomly placed dots.

Expected Results:  
I would like to be able to read the text.

I'm running gentoo, gcc 4.0.2, kde 3.4.3 with gtk and xorg also in recent versions.

Can you please advise if this is still an issue on a recent Firefox version.
