Every time I send an attach larger that 400k it times out.

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7 Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 1.5 (20051025) When I send an attachment of greater than 400k, I get a message that says the the SMTP has refused to send the message, but I can send it with the same SMTP with Eudora. It only happens with an attach. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Send a mail with an attach of 400k or larger. 2. 3. Actual Results: Delivery Failure notice- Expected Results: Send the message.
do you have a virus scanner active? It's probably slowing things down. You can try increasing the timeout in tools | options | advanced | general.

thx, reopening to resolve as wfm. My guess is that one or the other would have been sufficient, i.e., turning off the outgoing virus scanner, or increasing the timeout - I don't think you should need to do both...
